We use homemade chili powder a lot, so a DIY Homemade Chili Powder Recipe is something I came up with very early on. I mean, we use this recipe or my Homemade Taco Seasoning (which is similar, but a designed to be a ready mix like that in the stores) in meals such as:
These proportions are to my liking. Obviously you can play around with it and add more cayenne if you like. You can add more or less smoked paprika, or even add turmeric. I like the turmeric, because it does not add too much in flavor, but adds a great amount of health.
DIY Homemade Chili Powder Recipe
- ½ cup paprika powder
- 2 tsp cumin powder
- 2 tsp oregano crushed
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- 2 tsp turmeric powder (optional)
- Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container.
