Thanksgiving is always a very special time for me.
As weather changes and cool weather moves in, it’s a time of eating delicious food and visiting family. I’m very blessed with having a great family to join for the holidays. It’s always adventurous: hikes, lots of board games, yard games, teasing, and eating. We also cook a lot! These Thanksgiving recipes are part of our traditions, with many decoration ideas as well.
Join us with this roundup and so many more recipes and DIYs in the Frugal & Healthy DIY Holiday event.
Thanksgiving day cooking usually comes down to myself and my mom, with a little help from others here and there throughout the day.
We have our go to recipes that we love and that are requested each year, but it’s fun to try new things and find new favorites as well.
Thanksgiving Recipes
I like to re-evaluate what I’ve made in the past.
- What worked well? What did NOT?
- What was difficult or tiring and can possibly be done differently?
We already have way too many dishes, but there’s always a new favorite that’s found or a new request made. For example, I discovered last year that blueberry pie is INCREDIBLE! Definitely a new favorite of mine! I’ll try to put the recipe together for you. It’s so simple with great ingredients for a dessert.
Below are recipes that have been used by people for years and are family favorites. Try something new and have fun!
Fall Decorations
It was the beginning of September when my niece told me that she already decorated for Fall. She was so excited that I couldn’t tell her I thought that was a tad bit early. Hey, do what you want in your own home and enjoy.
I get Fall decorations out in October some time. I love new ideas to add to a fresh, cozy, and tasteful look to my home.
I asked some homestead bloggers to show you their decorating ideas, as well as some of their favorite recipes. I’ve added theirs below already.
If you are a blogger and would like to add a few of your own ideas, please feel free to as long as they are on topic.
Thanksgiving Recipes and Fall Decorations Roundup
I asked a few friends what they love to make around the holidays. These are make it from scratch kind of ladies, which I love! I don’t have heavily processed ingredient on hand, so having recipes that call for basic ingredients to make delicious dishes is a gold find.
If you are a blogger, you can add your Thanksgiving recipes at the end.
Thank you for joining us. Many blessings to you during the Fall and winter months.
