The coolness of the mornings, the decomposition of leaves, Fall flowers, Holiday scents like cinnamon, cloves, and pumpkin all create wonderful memories.
One way to create wonderful scents in the home and give meaningful homemade gifts is to make your own Fall soaps using these 5 Fall Soap Recipes.

As always, I only create recipes using pure ingredients. You will find no fragrance oils here (No matter what they claim to not have in them, fragrance oils are a chemical brew that is not natural or healthy).

Fall Soap Recipes and Tips:
- I’ve included a few Vegan recipes along with the traditional tallow recipes.
- You can interchange essential oil scents from one recipe to another if you like the ingredients to another recipe better.
- If you want to double a recipe or switch out an oil for another one, make sure you run it through a lye calculator to make sure it adds up. You don’t want to end up with too much lye and have a crumbly soap.

5 Fall Soap Recipes
Orange and Cloves Soap Recipe
Makes: 2 pounds
Superfat: 5%
Ingredients:
- 10 ounces Grass Fed Beef Tallow or Lard
- 5 ounces Coconut Oil
- 9 ounces Olive Oil
- 3.4 ounces Lye
- 9 ounces Water
- 0.25 ounces Orange Essential Oil
- 0.50 ounces Clove Essential Oil
- 1 teaspoon Moroccan clay
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
Directions:
- Weigh and combine tallow, coconut, and olive oil in a large stainless steel pot and heat over low heat until oils are melted. Cool to around 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Weigh water and lye in separate containers. Outside, with protective gloves, goggles, and mask, slowly add lye to the water (be careful. Lye will burn your skin if it touches you. Don’t inhale vapors either!). Stir. Cool to around 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Pour lye water into oils and blend with hand mixer until light trace.
- Add essential oils and blend.
- Remove 1/4 cup of soap to one bowl and 1/4 cup of soap to a second bowl. To one bowl add 1 teaspoon orange Moroccan clay. To the second bowl add 1 teaspoon ground turmeric.
- Pour main batch into a prepared 2 pound mold. Drizzle colored soap back and forth over soap. Use a chopstick and swirl soap back and forth in the opposite direction that you drizzled.
- Cover and insulate for 24 hours.
- Remove from mold and cut. Cure for 3-6 weeks.

- 0.15 oz Allspice Essential Oil
Directions:
- Weigh and combine tallow, coconut, and olive oil in a large stainless steel pot and heat over low heat until oils are melted. Cool to around 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

Spiced Cider Soap Recipe (Vegan)

- 5oz Sweet Almond Oil
- 5 oz Coconut Oil
- 9 oz Olive Oil
- 5oz Palm Oil
- 3.4 oz Lye
- 9 oz Aloe Liquid (or Water)
- 0.50 oz Orange Essential Oil
- 0.50 oz Cinnamon Essential Oil
- 0.25 oz Ginger Essential Oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
- Weigh and combine sweet almond oil, coconut oil, olive oil, and palm oil in a large stainless steel pot and heat over low heat until oils are melted. Cool to around 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Weigh aloe (or water) and lye in separate containers. Outside, with protective gloves, goggles, and mask, slowly add lye to the water (be careful. Lye will burn your skin if it touches you. Don’t inhale vapors either!). Stir. Cool to around 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Pour lye water into oils and blend with hand mixer until light trace.
- Add essential oils and ground cinnamon and blend.
- Pour into a mold and insulate for 24 hours.
- Remove from mold and cut. Cure for 3-6 weeks.

Superfat: 10%
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces Cocoa Butter
- 9 ounces Olive Oil
- 5 ounces Coconut Oil
- 5 ounces Palm Oil
- 3.2 ounces Avocado Oil
- 3.4 ounces Lye
- 9 ounces Water
- 0.4 ounces Cedarwood Essential Oil
- 0.4 ounces Fir Essential Oil
Directions:
- Weigh and combine cocoa butter, coconut oil, olive oil, palm oil, and avocado oil in a large stainless steel pot and heat over low heat until oils are melted. Cool to around 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Weigh water and lye in separate containers. Outside, with protective gloves, goggles, and mask, slowly add lye to the water (be careful. Lye will burn your skin if it touches you. Don’t inhale vapors either!). Stir. Cool to around 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
