I can’t believe how much I’ve learned in the past year! Check out the Simple Life Mom Top 10 of the year.
I do things now that I never would have thought of this time last year (I love how banana peppers are right in the middle of all the DIY items). Thank you all for your encouragement and I hope that you’ve learned as much as I have this past year and have grown to trust the fact that you can learn to make more items yourself and become more sufficient.
#1 Homemade Foundation
Learn how to make your own foundation using natural ingredients.
#2 Homemade Eye Shadow and Blush
Making your own eye shadow and blush basically involves blending various powders; a lot of which you probably already have in your kitchen cupboard.
#3 Homemade Lipstick
This was a lot of fun. You can also play with colors here. Make you lip stick darker, lighter, rosier, or more brown.
#4 Homemade Shampoo, Conditioner, and Detangler
Here are a number of herbal recipes for your hair. These do not involve lye or other soap making advanced techniques, but instead are simple but healthy.
#5 Homemade Lotions and Balms
I make and use the lotions and lip balm all the time. My entire family uses them. A great resource.
#6 Stuffed Banana Peppers
My husband’s favorite recipe. It’s surprisingly simple!
#7 Window Washing
You might as well smell essential oils when you clean instead of poisonous chemicals.
#8 Homemade Perfume
Essential oil combinations make up the best perfumes ever. They are the original perfumes.
#9 Basic Soap Recipe
Get started making soap with this basic recipe. It’s as easy as baking a cake.
#10 Homemade Deodorant
I made some of this today. I love my homemade deodorant. Nothing works as well. Nothing!
So far I’m just getting started on my blog and recording my progress of moving toward an all natural way of living when it comes to ingredients in my food and what we put on our bodies. Yet, I feel like we’ve already come a long way!
We’ve changed what we put on our bodies daily, which lowers our daily toxin exposure tremendously. I’m really excited and encouraged by this progress. I hope you’re motivated and able to make the same changes in your life so that you and your family can be more healthy now and later.
